Video Sharing

What did you like or dislike about the YouTube site and why did you choose the video that you did?
I liked the vast amount of videos available on the youtube site. I once used it to help me find instructions on how to install a component in a computer I was building. I also found out to hook up a tv with a video on this site. Very useful. I chose the video I located because I thought it was very entertaining. Having previously worked in a Public Library I thought this video was useful as well.

Can you see any features or components of the site that might be interesting if they were applied to library websites?
As you can see from the video, of course there are features that can be interesting if applied to library websites. Using Youtube would be a great way to introduce users to how to browse the catalog, check out books, understand the subject headings and locate materials in the library.

Online Apps

Did you like or dislike them?
I actually like online applications, they are great to use and can help when you don't have a file on hand or don't have access to your personal computer or flash drive. I think google docs is a wonderful way to share information and documents. The other app I looked at was Snipshot. This seemed very interesting, but it looks like you need a subscription to use it.

Should we explore using them in our daily work?
I do think we should explore using them in our daily work, but considering the privacy leeks that occur or hacking from individuals in cyber space it would not be prudent to store sensitive information on these sites.

Greetings and welcome to my blog for the NN/LM Moodle Course 13 Things Learning 2.0 -- MCR/PSR13. The first assignement involves creating a blog. This isn't my first blog. I created one for another class I took last year. So far this is fairly easy work. Although I didn't do a lot on my previous blog, I plan on using this one or another one more often as I move forward with a work related project where I am creating an internal website for the hospital that I work for.

I look forward to creating additional projects with the other technologies we will be exploring in this class as they also will help make my internal website more robust and user friendly to the physicians and staff members who will be using it in the future. I did locate an interesting photograph to add to this blog, and you probably noticed it when you first came to this page. It is an antique jar used to store medical leeches. I have always been facinated by this practice which has been been going on for over 2000 years and is still used today. If you would like to learn more about medicinal leeches please see the following article:
